and one of the valleys biggest spring events perhaps run honors the life ofin-service of pat tillman the football star turn soldier was killed whileserving overseas a_b_c_ fifteens eric english explains how pat's run raisesmoney for scholarships for servicemen and women serving nowhis rally runners joggers and walkers have come together to undergo lifeservice and memory of pat tillmanthe issue football standout gave up a bright future in the n_f_l_ to enlist inthe army and serve his country while deployed overseas tillman was killed byfriendly fire but each year at the race and other events honor is memory reallyhas taken on a life of its ownagain not just continued ways you've had so many that honoringhelping other service members back have their own legacies more than thirtythousand people are expected for tomorrow's race organizers tell me theproceeds raised hilda scholarships for servicemen and women and their spouseswho excel in-service and academicsthose like melissa stroked her husband was wounded in iraq roadside bomb wentoff severely injuringconflicts that the people that are supporting not only have so many but ourmilitary men and women that are serving and just showing them that indeed youhave not been for gotten stroll and cameron macquarie who after servingthree tours as an infantryman in iraq's is now getting a degree in americanhistory thirty s tour of the one hundred eleven tillman scholarship winnersmany are in town to participate in the run and volunteer with organizing therace both say the legacy pat tillman lives onand by that i have the opportunity help the foundation but more importantlysued hell but there's remember who pat tillman was than what he stood forintent the their king which a_b_c_ fifteen minutes
