First Story Golden Grannies Placed 2nd in Best Radio Feature at Broadcast Education Association Awards 2nd Story Kenny Mitchell Placed in 1st in Television Sports Reporting at the Society of Professional Journalism Awards Placed 3rd in Television Sports Photography at the Society of Professional Journalism Awards.

Hi statue was unveiled in front of the gates to SDS. 200 former players under Kush from 1955-1979 attended... and an historic game unfolded. Another Sun Devil Undefeated Season ended season with a chance to finish #1 in the Country until Jan. 1, 1997 Rose Bowl when the devils lost 20-17 to a last minute score by OHIO STATE.
