Prior to joining ESPN in June 1999, John covered Pat Tillman's college and football careers when he worked as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor in Phoenix, AZ. In addition to his roles as SportsCenter anchor, Wipeout host, husband and dad -- John has added Team Tillman New York member to the list to help raise funds and create awareness for the Pat Tillman Foundation. All he has to do is run 26.2 miles -- can't be that hard right? Today he invites you to learn more about the efforts of Team Tillman New York. The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform holds a hearing entitled "Misleading Information from the Battlefield." The hearing focuses on the death of Army Ranger Specialist Patrick Tillman in Afghanistan and the capture and rescue of Army Private Jessica Lynch in Iraq. The Committee examines why inaccurate accounts of these two incidents were disseminated, the sources and motivations for the accounts, and whether the appropriate Administration officials have been held accountable. Chairman Henry Waxman gives opening remarks.
Keith Olbermann asks Wes Clark about the cover-up of Tillman's murder. Clark says orders for such a whitewash would have to come from "the very top." The Rabbit Hole on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/rabbitholenews
This ESPN Sports Century biography on Pat Tillman is divided into six parts. I think this aired in 2005. Through remarks and conversation with Tillman Military Scholars from the Harvard community, Marie shared her own story, and offered insight on how to translate moments of personal tragedy, adversity, and reflection into catalysts for positive social change.
New Hoover Dam Bridge - Initially, I thought they were building a suspension bridge with the very high towers on both side installed and managing and installing all those expensive high quality cables, but no. In my opinon, they choose the most EXPENSIVE and unnecessary lengthy and WASTAGE way to build this bridge. Surely, it's another way to "skin a cat" - the US Bridge Authority?
The Oversight Committee holds a hearing, "The Tillman Fratricide: What the Leadership of the Defense Department Knew." The hearing is part of an ongoing investigation and follows a previous hearing held in April. Witnesses will include former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Former Commander of U.S. Central Command Gen. John P. Abizaid (Retired), Former Chair of Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers (Retired), Former Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command Gen. Bryan Douglas Brown (Retired). Gen. Kensinger has been served with a subpoena, but has not been able to be located over the past several days and will not appear. Chairman Waxman gives opening remarks.
BAR-LEV: There's a sense that this is a story that is over. That this is something we look back on about the Bush administration. In fact, this is a story that continues to this day. Nobody's ever been called to account for their actions...This was a deliberate attempt to cover up the facts.

What's next? Tillman Military Scholar Dennis Robinson's take on the legacy of Pat Tillman. "Let's us, in the spirit of Pat Tillman, do something unconventional."
The 8th Annual Pat's Run took place in Tempe, AZ on April 21, 2012 with more than 28,000 walkers and runners participating to honor the legacy of Pat Tillman. Proceeds from Pat's Run benefit the Tillman Military Scholars program. More than 30 current Tillman Military Scholars attended Pat's Run this year and helped produce this video to say thank you to participants, sponsors and volunteers.
