Tiffany, Chrissy and Jack all ran in the 8th annual Pat's Run in Tempe, AZ. Then Bryce and Mason ran their hearts out in the Kid's Run shortly after. After a quick pit stop at home we were back out for some more fun. Bryce and his little league team joined hundreds of other little leaguers as they walked around the field at Chase Field. Then we watched as the Arizona Diamondbacks lost to the Atlanta Braves for the third straight night. And lastly I head to my brother's house for some dinner and fun but find myself in a little trouble.

The construction contract for the Colorado River Bridge, was awarded to the joint venture partnership of Obayashi Corporation and PSM Construction USA, Inc., in October of 2004 for US$ 114 million. Construction began in early 2005 and is expected to be completed in 2010. When completed, the 2000 ft-long (610 m) Colorado River Bridge will span the Black Canyon (about 1500 ft/457 m south of the Hoover Dam), connecting the Arizona and Nevada Approach highways nearly 900 ft (274 m) above the Colorado River. The construction requirements and challenges are as difficult as any in the world.
Prior to joining ESPN in June 1999, John covered Pat Tillman's college and football careers when he worked as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor in Phoenix, AZ. The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform holds a hearing entitled "Misleading Information from the Battlefield." The hearing focuses on the death of Army Ranger Specialist Patrick Tillman in Afghanistan and the capture and rescue of Army Private Jessica Lynch in Iraq. The Committee examines why inaccurate accounts of these two incidents were disseminated, the sources and motivations for the accounts, and whether the appropriate Administration officials have been held accountable. Chairman Henry Waxman questions Specialist Patrick Tillman's mother Mary Tillman about the callous response she received from some in response to her persistence in getting the truth about her son's death.
The Oversight Committee holds a hearing, "The Tillman Fratricide: What the Leadership of the Defense Department Knew." The hearing is part of an ongoing investigation and follows a previous hearing held in April. Witnesses will include former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Former Commander of U.S. Central Command Gen. John P. Abizaid (Retired), Former Chair of Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers (Retired), Former Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command Gen. Bryan Douglas Brown (Retired). Gen. Kensinger has been served with a subpoena, but has not been able to be located over the past several days and will not appear. Chairman Waxman gives opening remarks.

Leading construction supply and equipment company F&M MAFCO, Inc. (http://www.fmmafco.com), known internationally as "The Powerful Solutions People" , played a major role in the construction of the Colorado River Bridge.
In September of 2006, construction was temporarily halted after the collapse of the cableway system. The cableway system is a critical part of the bridge construction project as it facilitates the delivery of construction materials across the entire canyon, a span of almost 2500 feet.
In March of 2007, F&M MAFCO was awarded the contract to supply two new 50 ton capacity High Line cableways.
The new cableway system consisted of four towers that were 335 feet tall, two head towers on the Nevada side, and two tail towers on the Arizona side. A total of 14 hoists, 8 winches and over 100,00 feet of wire rope and pendants were used for the erection of the High Line Cableway system.
The Colorado River Bridge is an engineering and construction marvel and is the first concrete-steel composite arch bridge built in the United States. The new four lane highway and signature bridge spans the Black Canyon, connecting the Arizona and Nevada Approach highways nearly 900-feet above the Colorado River and 1,500 feet south of the Hoover Dam.
