It’s Time to celebrate our boys of summer. It’s impossible to highlight every outstanding player in our rich baseball history so here’s a nod to a few.

Cory Hahn cracks a grand slam off Matt Hobgood during a Southern Section Division 1 Quarterfinal game between the Mater Dei Monarchs and the Norco Cougars. Santa Ana Mater Dei defeated Norco 7-4 to move onto the semifinals at Long Beach's Blair Field. Hobgood, the 2009 Gatorade California High Player of the Year, entered the game with a perfect 11-0 record and 0.33 ERA. Hahn, a junior outfielder/pitcher, is a top college prospect. In his next at-bat, Hahn took Hobgood deep again for a solo home run, his second dinger of the game.
Sun Devil softball outfielder Alix Johnson leads the game off with a solo homerun. Second baseman Sam Parlich adds two more homeruns in the second and third inning and catcher Amber Freeman ends the game with a two run homerun.
