Former Arizona State and Notre Dame baseball coach Pat Murphy was honored at a recent ceremony at Notre Dame. Thanks to a contribution by his family, the newly renovated Irish baseball clubhouse will now be known at the "Coach Pat Murphy Lockerroom". Murphy was also presented an honorary monogram by the school.
Long before he was the American League Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player, Dustin Pedroia was a diminutive shortstop for Arizona State University with a unique relationship with his college baseball coach.
