In 2014, nine Sun Devils were selected to the Pac-12 All-Academic Team. 2014 also marked the 52nd consecutive season that the program won at least thirty games.
In the fall of 2014, 14 members of the baseball program were named “Scholar Ballers.” Student-Athletes who earn at least a 3.0 GPA. Three pitchers (Ryan Kellogg, Brett Lilek, and Ryan Burr) were named Pre-Season All-Americans. Only UCLA has as many, and this is best in the country.
Baseball became an official sport at Arizona State in 1959, under legendary coach Bobby Winkles. Since then, ASU Baseball’s five National Championships is the fourth most in the nation (but the last came in 1981).

Four hundred Sun Devils have been drafted by MLB teams, and of that group, 102 have gone on to play in the Major League. This is second nationally behind only Southern California. Eight of those 102 Sun Devils have won a World Series, four have won Rookie of the Year, and three have won a league MVP award.
All said and done, ASU Baseball has produced 57 All-Stars, five Gold Glove winners, four Silver Slugger winners, an ALCS MVP, an NLCS MVP, and a World Series MVP.
