A Week in Review

The final game, and really the whole season didn’t go as we had all hoped, but it has been great seeing the uniforms that the Sun Devil Equipment staff rolled out every game. Against Cal, the Gold Helmet/White Jersey/Maroon Pant combo gave the Sun Devils a great look for their 12th and final unique combination of the regular season.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, in a year of mass change and innovation with the introduction of Adidas and unmatched creativity, the equipment staff never lost touch of Arizona State’s maroon and gold identity. The Gold/White/Maroon look is nearly as timeless as the 1996 Tillman throwbacks worn against Oregon. The equipment staff did an outstanding job this year and the final game was no different.

The Week to Come

We now know that the Sun Devils will be playing in the Cactus Bowl at Chase Field in Phoenix and have been designated as the home team. This means the equipment staff has plenty of options at its fingertips, and I will be documenting the decision when it is released.

Will we see some type of Desert Hammer and Desert Ice combination? Maroon? Black? Some type of mix and match? Whatever the final uniform is, it will be another look that is uniquely ASU and will cap off the 2015-16 season in style.

Well, we have the answer to the question of at least one of the elements. The Sun Devil Equipment Staff tweeted a picture this morning of the Cactus Bowl logo sewn onto Maroon jerseys. The rest of the uniform combination remains to be seen, and I’m sure we’ll have a few surprises!

The Sun Devil Equipment staff also recently changed its main twitter picture to what looks like a flame. While I do not expect to see the Flame Helmets again, it is surely a clue as to something looming for the bowl game. Take a look at their main picture in the tweet below.

Even though the regular season is over, there will still be more UNIFORMITY to come. As I mentioned, the Cactus Bowl uniform will have its own article.
