2014 – Defensive Backs, #13 Armand Perry and #3 Damarious Randall

We sat down with one of our favorite young Sun Devils, redshirt sophomore Armand Perry.

DHD: What is one of the hardest things and one of the best things about playing in Coach Todd Graham’s system?

Armand Perry: The hardest thing I will say is to match his energy. He shows up to work every day, and he brings it. There might be some days where we are tired. There might be some days where you really don’t feel like being out there. But he’s going to push you to your limits. It could be a bad thing and a good thing.

You know, growing up in this program, I learned that you can never take this game for granted. You have to show up every day with a championship mentality. Doing that rubs off on all of your teammates, and I just want to thank Coach Graham for that.

DHD: Are you 100% healthy and ready to go?

Armand Perry: Yes. I’m ready to go. I can’t wait for September 3rd. It’s been about a year since I’ve been back on the grass. There’s going to be a party out there.

DHD: Who you say is the hardest hitter on the team?

Armand Perry: Pound for pound, DJ Calhoun, and I love it. He puts his body on the line for his team, and he’s going hard out there every day.

DHD: What is your overall assessment of ASU’s defensive backfield this year?

Armand Perry: We look good right now, but you can never get complacent. You know last year was a tough year, but all that’s going to lead to our success. We don’t want to look back, but we took a hard look at that film. We’re tweaking some things, working on our technique, and finding new ways to identify formations. We’re pushing everybody in that room to be the best player that each can be every single day.
