ASU Center Jordan Bachynski, the newly crowned All-Time Pac-12 Blocks Leader, is on fire. Bachynski played a huge role in a pivotal victory over the Oregon Ducks earlier this evening at Wells Fargo arena.
In the final seconds of a game in which ASU fell behind after leading by 20 points at half, Bachynski blocked Oregon’s Joseph Young on a layup attempt at the buzzer. Had Young scored, this one would have gone to overtime with the Duck’s owning the momentum. Instead, the Devils overcame a second half melt-down. Final: ASU 74, Oregon 72.
Just two days ago against Oregon State, Bachynski finished with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 7 blocks which earned him the Pac-12 record. When he fouled out with 2:30 left in OT, he got a standing ovation. The Devils won 86-82.
Tonight, ASU Center Jordan Bachynski kicked it into another gear as he opened the game making 6 consecutive shots from the field. In all, he collected a career-high 26 points, 9 rebounds, 9 blocked shots and a steal. Expect him to be the Pac-12 Player of the Week.
ASU Center Jordan Bachynski is performing well enough this year to be projected as a 2nd round NBA Draft pick.
ASU is in the hunt for a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Devils have six days to prepare for their next game vs #2 Arizona: Friday, 7:00 pm MT at Wells Fargo Arena.
