National Letter of Intent Signing Day Day is tomorrow.
Coaching staffs all over the country are anxiously awaiting the sweet buzz of their fax machines. After all, the signed letters they hope to receive are the pay-off for longer hours than they’d probably admit. Between all of the phone calls, texts, emails, voicemails, airports, hotels, high school stadiums and living rooms, it’s mind-boggling to consider how much work it takes a Staff to secure a coveted recruit.

The tension inside the Carson Center could hit all-time highs as the decisions of a handful of high-profile recruits are still as yet unknown. Right now there’s too many fuzzy predictions that include the Sun Devils for this staff to downshift anytime soon. In recent years, we’ve seen more top prospects hold on to their decisions until the end, but I can’t remember ASU having this many true impact players in the mix in the final hour.
Elite 11 QB Joshua Dobbs (Alpharetta, GA) gave ASU an early commitment, but has recently opened his recruitment enough to take an official visit to Tennessee. What had been a solid verbal commitment to ASU for many months, has become a 2-3 week roller coaster ride leading up to signing day. ASU did not take a QB in the 2012 recruiting class, so Dobbs’ presence in Tempe this fall is paramount.
Perhaps in the effort to bolster the Devil’s position with Dobbs, Coach Graham recently offered Dobbs’ teammate, OT George Adeosun. When Adeosun was likely to visit Tennessee like Dobbs, Graham was able to convince the 6’6″ 294-pound tackle to instead fly to Tempe for an official visit over the weekend. At this point though, it appears that ASU is battling both Georgia and Oklahoma for his signature.
After missing out on a local high-profile defensive back, the Devils didn’t skip a beat in their efforts to land L.J. Moore (Fresno, CA) who is the #24-rated CB recruit in the 2013 class. With 24 hours till Moore’s announcement, it looks as though ASU is battling Oregon State down to the wire, but Cal and Oklahoma are also involved. L.J. Moore is one of the Sun Devil’s biggest undecided prospects at this moment.
UCLA LB commit, Cameron Judge (Westlake Village, CA) recently opened up his recruitment while still being verbally committed to the Bruins. ASU immediately put in the effort to get Judge’s attention and has since made a big impression. Judge projects as a SPUR Linebacker, combo linebacker/ safety, a spot in the Sun Devil’s defensive scheme which requires just the right talent. With current SPUR Chris Young entering his senior year in 2013, Judge should be in the position to shine brightly and early as part of the Sun Devil program. Will he affirm his verbal commitment to Ucla or will the Devils come out on top?
