Tempe, AZ – Quarterback Manny Wilkins is already proving his value as a key component of the 2014 Sun Devil football recruiting class.

Wilkins (6’3” / 185 lbs) recently had the distinction of being invited to the Elite 11 premier quarterback camp on ESPN. Only 18 quarterbacks across the nation are invited to attend the camp each year.

Elite 11 quarterbacks are selected through an exhaustive evaluation process, with more than 1,000 quarterbacks evaluated annually from 12 Nike Football Training Camps and seven EA SPORTS Elite 11 regional camps (source: ESPN).

Manny Wilkins has taken it upon himself to stay in the ear of top prospects with Sun Devil offers, and it seems to be working. He has even been vocal about ASU’s campaign to secure the top in-state talent, often communicating with those most coveted AZ players.

As a well-spoken leader and promising young quarterback, it’s hard for fans to ask for more from a kid that has yet to take a snap in his senior season at San Marin (CA) high school.

However, there’s a lot more to the future Sun Devil than meets the eye.

Wilkins has overcome more adversity than most kids in his position, and he has faced it head-on and with a purpose. These qualities should serve him well in Tempe, where Coach Graham is building a program of high-character young men.
