Tonight the Sun Devil Club hosted the 2012 Sun Devil Football Banquet at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort. The sold-out event not only recognized the achievements of the team and players, but it went a step further this year to honor the rich tradition of Sun Devil Football by celebrating Arizona State’s Ring of Honor Inductees.

We thought we’d share some tweets from the evening to provide a little insight into the award winners and a sense of what it was like at the party.

But first, let’s acknowledge how well the Athletic Department embraces an event of this magnitude to garner donations from Sun Devil faithful and all-star boosters. After all, money and money well spent directly impacts winning collegiate athletic programs. Period.

Individual seats and tables for the event were sold for a premium.

• Maroon Table $1,500
  Included seating for ten (10) guests
• Gold Table $2,000
  Seated eight (8) guests and two current Sun Devil Football players
• Premium Table $5,000
  Sat eight (8) guests and an Assistant Coach or ASU Administrator

Amongst other silent auction items, there were two (2) worth mentioning. This year’s Territorial Cup game ball signed by Coach Graham sold for $10,000.  A trip to next year’s ASU-Notre Dame game at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas was also sold. The trip included the flight out with the players and the opportunity to charge out of the tunnel with the Sun Devils, along with a game ball signed by the entire team. The lucky Devil who won the prize bid $15,000.

Lastly, four (4) individuals were inducted into the Ring of Honor. The Ring is a Sun Devil Football Alumni-driven initiative to pay homage to the players who have truly shaped Sun Devil Football over time. To be eligible, the inductee must have been out of college a minimum of 20 years and broadly acknowledged to have had an outstanding career as a Sun Devil. The 2012 Ring of Honor Inductees who were honered:
