Today, Tyler Lockman of Fox Sports West wrote an excellent article on Marion Grice‘s brief career at ASU. He summarizes some of  the many records that the senior running back can break in the second half of 2013.

Check out Lockman’s article here: Nearing record numbers, Grice finally getting noticed.

Some of Tyler’s findings that might blow you away about Sun Devil #1:

— At 18 touchdowns so far this year, Grice is tied for third on that list, and only 5 scores from being tops in the record books. The record is held by legendary Wilford “Wizzer” White, who scored 22 touchdowns for the Devils in 1950.

— If Grice breaks that season mark in the next two games (road games at Washington St. and Utah), he’ll have accumulated a total of 42 career touchdowns. ASU’s career TD record is held by Woody Green (1971-1973) & Wizzer White (1947-1950), who each scored 48 times.

—  Grice would need seven more scores in ASU’s remaining three games (Oregon St., Ucla, and UofA) to break Green and White’s all-time career record.

— He’s one game away from tying the ASU record for consecutive games scoring a touchdown in a season (11, set by J.D. Hill in 1970) and two away from tying the career mark (13, set by Hill from 1969-1970).

— The current Pac-12 season record is held by Stanford’s Toby Gerhart who found the end zone 28 times in 2009. With at least a bowl game likely, Grice is on pace to score 33 TD’s in 2013. Grice would also take Gerhart’s Pac-12 season record for points – 172. Grice is on pace for 201.

Wow.
