Nate McWhortor, a DieHard Devil

 Hey fellow Devils. Here are my thoughts for this week’s “Nate to the Nation.”

Do you feel that Sun Devil fans? Do you feel that knot of excitement in your stomach? That’s the “I can’t wait for Sun Devil Football” knot. A knot made even bigger and more painful because for us, the season starts a week later than most.

But as the old saying goes “good things come to those who wait.” If you don’t feel that knot, then maybe you need some help. Here’s a list of sure-fire “knot creating” reasons why you should be excited for Sun Devil kickoff on September 5th:

1. Potential. The Devils are poised for a HUGE season.
2. Tailgating. I think this commercial sums it up.
3. A full student section being as rowdy as ever.
4. Students trying to figure out yet another new ticketing and stadium entry process.
5. Will Sutton
6. Carl Bradford
7. Taylor Kelly
8. Marion Grice
9. DJ Foster
10. A great number of other players who will step up and be household names by season’s end.
11. A great 7 Home Game schedule
12. Black out vs Wisconsin
13. Maroon Monsoon vs USC
14. This is the awesome commercial for that game. It’s exactly the voice I imagined a 6-foot tall badger would have.
    
15. It only gets tougher after Wisconsin with Stanford on the road.
16. It doesn’t get any easier after that. Here come the Trojans.
17. It’s not over, Notre Dame is next.
18. #AnyChallenge is a perfect motto.
19. If hashtags existed in 1996 Bruce Snyder would have had #OneAtATime. If the BCS existed in 1996 ASU would have played UF in the National Championship (moment of silence). 
20. We get to play Colorado again this year (and every year).
21. Wazzu is still on the schedule .
22. Oregon isn’t on the schedule.
23. We don’t have to drive to Tucson.
24. Todd Graham is our guy, and he has this to say to students.
25. The student section still isn’t called the “Golden Grahams” like I’ve been lobbying for.
26. It’s also not called the “Todd Squad.”
27. “Nate’s Army” was rejected as well.
28. BOOM!
29. Thunderstruck
30. GONG! GONG! GONG!
31. That brings up a Sun Devil First down! “ONE! TWO! THREE! FIRST DOWN!”
32. Get your keys out!
33. Maroon and Gold (The Fight Song).
34. Gold (Our traditional Game Day color for 5 Games).
35. Except for the Maroon Monsoon vs USC and the Black-Out vs Wisconsin
36. Sun Devil Fans took a typo and turned it into a positive 
37. Camp T looks like it’s here to stay.
38. The energy inside Sun Devil Stadium on Saturday night is unlike anything else.
39. Most of us grew up in Sun Devil Stadium.
40. We’ll be sweaty, but it’s a good sweat.
