Yes, it’s Official: Will Sutton aka “Sweet Tea Willie” held a press conference at 4:30pm today to announce that he will stay for his Senior Year. Consider Sutton as ASU’s Top Recruit as no one knew if they would get his commitment to the 2013 Sun Devils until today. As a Junior, Sutton earned All-American status and was one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the BCS.
Members of the team were in attendance and when Sutton simply said “I’m going to stay”, the room lit up with plenty of “hoots” and applause…and nothing but smiles. This development energizes an already engaged fan base after what is widely considered a successful first year under CTG & Co.
More details and quotes coming up about the significance of this news to Arizona State Football. In the meantime, here are some tweets around SUN DEVIL NATION following Sutton’s announcement.
