In the wake of an impressive victory for Arizona State Football and a pivotal recruiting weekend, 6′ 1″, 181LB WR Jalen Harvey has alerted ASU’s coaching staff that he will be a Devil. The news was first reported by Chris Karpman of ASUDevils.com.
About Harvey as a player, Karpman said, “He’s a full service guy who has some basic movement skills that are mostly innate and probably not the result of some high level development over a multi-year period. He’s a football athlete, not just an athlete trying to play football. “
Here’s a quick video of a one-handed catch by Jalen to knock off unbeaten Salesian High School in 2012. Jalen is now a Senior at El Cerrito High School in El Cerrito in northern California.
247Sports reported that Harvey holds a handful of offeres which include Oregon, Tennessee and Ucla. They rank him as the No. 20 receiver nationally and California’s 13th best player.
An ESPN 300 recruit, Harvey de-committed for Cal after his visit to Tempe this weekend. An interesting part of the story is that his teammate, Rivals250 four-star linebacker Derik Calhoun was equally impressed with ASU when he visited Tempe with Harvey for the Washington game. Karpman of ASUDevils reported that Calhoun had de-committed from USC before he even arrived home after his trip to ASU. Something to keep an eye on..
