In all, the PAC12 has a total of 15 players in the running for the Maxwell Award. ASU is tops in the conference with a total of 3 Sun Devils on the List. QB Taylor Kelly and DT Will Sutton also made the cut.

On the national level, Grice is the most unknown talent of the three. After all, last year was his first season with ASU as a Junior College transfer out of Texas. Grice was originally committed to Texas A&M, but had to decomit due to SEC and BIG 12 transfer rules.

In 2013, Grice accumulated 1,104 Yds from scrimmage and 19 TD’s on the ground and through the air. The stat that’s really building his hype this off-season is the fact that Grice put points on the board every seven times he touched the ball. That’s thirteen percent, an even higher mark than Oregon’s DeAnthony Thomas.

Even bigger news for Sun Devil Nation is that Grice is expected to “touch” the ball even more this season since RB Cameron Marshall, who had the most carries for the Devils last year, has completed his career.

The national media attention is well deserved by Marion Grice, a soft-spoken player who lets his talent on the field speak on his behalf. His is one of many story lines giving ASU added national exposure as they prepare for what could be a landmark season.
