Highly touted prospect D.J. Foster from Saguaro High School has finally announced that he will be attending Arizona State University to play for the Sun Devils next year.

Deciding between Arizona State, California and USC, Foster ultimately chose to be a Sun Devil due to proximity to home and a “good vibe” from new head coach Todd Graham. “Everyone said to me that I should make this decision and I understand that” said Foster. “But I like to see my family and friends happy, that’s what makes me happy.”

Foster said he made his decision earlier this morning when his Dad sent him a picture of himself and D.J.’s sister, who died about three years ago, wearing ASU jerseys.  Foster, named the 2011 Arizona high school big schools and Tribune football player of the year, had a record setting season. In one game, he ran for a remarkable 508 yards and scored 10 touchdowns, both state records.

Coach Graham’s new high octane offense is very similar to the offense Foster ran at Saguaro, giving Sun Devil fans a reason to be confident that Foster will have a smooth transition. “I have been running it for the past three years,” Foster said about the high octane offense. “I feel like I have had a lot of success at it so far.”

Sun Devil quarterback Michael Eubank was very excited about Foster’s decision to become a Sun Devil and talked about how the offensewill benefit from a player like D.J.  “We (the offense) are gonna be one of a kind and put up a lot of points,” Eubank said.
