Tempe, AZ – In part one of the DieHard Ink series, we took an in depth look and the meaning behind the tattoos of Sun Devil players DJ Foster, Jake Sheffield and Marcus Ball.

This next installment will take a closer look at two more Sun Devil favorites, Carl Bradford and Michael Eubank.

Carl Bradford

Carl Bradford has made a name for himself during his time as a Sun Devil. Always known for his freakish athleticism and massive strength in the weight room, he has become one of the leaders of the ASU defense since his arrival in Tempe. Along with those unique characteristics, Bradford has some other important traits that serve as a daily reminder to him…his tattoos.

Bradford gave us the inside track on the meaning behind his DieHard Ink.

“My first one is a leg tattoo, and it’s a family tree, but it’s a rose. On the leaves instead of branches, I have all the names of my family members, my father (who recently passed away), my mother, brother and sister. It represents my family and who I play for.”

Bradford added, “The next one is another family tattoo. It’s a picture of my cousin Christina who passed away from a domestic violence incident, so I got a reminder of her on my arm. It’s the reason I’m a criminal justice major and it also reminds me to always treat girls with respect.”

“For the lion tattoo on my right shoulder/arm, I’m a Leo, so I got my face inter-mixed with a lions face.”

Michael Eubank

Sun Devil quarterback Michael Eubank has been fighting for a spot in the offensive rotation since his freshman year. Another physical specimen like Bradford, the redshirt sophomore has incredible gifts and athleticism for a quarterback that is 6’6” and 240 pounds.

Not only can Eubank run, but he also puts a lot of pride into his strong throwing arm. That was the inspiration for his new tattoo he got over the summer.

Eubank described to us the inspiration behind his new body art.

“The meaning behind my new tattoo is a machine on my right throwing arm. I have been working hard  during the off-season, and my trainer always said I was a machine and my arm should be automatic. That was the inspiration to get a mechanical tattoo on my right arm.” The tattoo has a very unique design and looks robotic when you see it in person.

Both Bradford and Eubank are proud Sun Devils and “prove it” every day with their work ethic on and off the field. Like all players, their tattoos represent what is important to them, their source of inspiration and daily reminders of who they are and what they play for.
