Sun Devil Football Saturday
Tempe, AZ – The fireworks started early and often on Saturday night at Sun Devil Stadium. Coming off the tough loss to Notre Dame last week, ASU didn’t waste any time getting things back on track against the Colorado Buffaloes. The Sun Devils displayed focus, intensity and a sense of urgency in their route of Colorado, final score 54-13.
First Quarter
The Taylor Kelly and Jaelen Strong connection got ASU off to the races in the first quarter when ASU struck first with a 69 yard touchdown pass. Scoring machine Marion Grice also added a couple of touchdowns in the quarter with 8 yard and 1 yard runs. Mike Bercovici converted a 2 point conversion on a pass to Jaelen Strong and Zane Gonzalez tacked on a 26 yard field goal. End of the first quarter, ASU led 25-0.

The Sun Devils bounced back right away on a short scoring pass to Davon Coleman. The ASU defense put some points on the board with a safety at 9:48 left in the half. Zane Gonzalez hit his second, third and fourth field goals on the night to increase the ASU lead to 40-6, but the Devils weren’t done. Third Quarter
Mike Bercovici started at quarterback in the second half and drove the Sun Devil offense down the field on an 14 play drive that ended with an RJ Robinson 1 yard touchdown run. That would be the only scoring in the quarter as ASU increased their lead to 54-6.
Fourth Quarter
The pace of scoring slowed down in the fourth and final quarter. The Buffs were able to find the end zone one more time and ASU could have added one more score at the end of the game, but took the classy route and took a knee to end the game.
